|The Enrollment Seminar for China-US Journalism Experimental Class Is Held by School of Communication|
In the morning of September 25, the seminar for the project “1+2+1” journalism experimental class was held successfully in Room207, NO.4 Building Huiwen, which was jointly managed by School of Communication of Yunnan Normal University (YNU) and Troy State University. Those attended the meeting included Party Committee Secretary XiongYongxiang, Standing Deputy Dean ZouJianda, Deputy Dean Zhou Yun, Shi Enming and Du Zhongfeng, Head of Journalism Department Xie Xiaoxia, teachers and 2015 students from Department of Journalism, and Li Xiaojuan, Coordinator of Special International Projects from Troy State University attended this seminar. It was presided by Vice-President Zhou Yun.
At the beginning, Professor Zhou Yun introduced the present leaders and guests, indicating the purpose of this seminar---to realize the communication and cooperation between YNU and Troy State University and then to take it for the starting point and platform to promote YNU to move forward to the international stage. Subsequently, Director Wang Ying from China Center for International Educational Exchange (CCIEE) delivered a speech centered on why to participate the journalism experimental class and the benefits it would bring afterwards. Director Wang also quoted President Xi Jingping’s words during his visit to America in the speech that this experimental class could gather the advantages of journalism of both China and America and help cultivate multi-competence talents.
Professor Zou Jianda introduced the project “1+2+1”in detail and stressed that both YNU and School of Communication were willing to try their best to help students. Director Li Xiaojuan then gave a detailed introduction to Troy State University’s campus culture construction and its merits to implement the project; she also answered questions that students present concerned. Additionally, Director Li introduced “ISCO” of Troy State University to teachers and students by combining the concrete problems that would trouble overseas students, emphasizing that this organization aimed to provide better environment for their life and study by coordinating cultural differences between different countries and races.
This seminar advance the internationalization of YNU, helping 2015 students known more about the China-U.S. cooperation of education and creating beneficial conditions for their overseas study and development.
