|Teachers in School of Communication Goes Malaysia and Indonesia for Major National Research Project|
Assigned by Yunnan Provincial Publicity Department, Professor Du Zhongfeng, the Deputy Dean of the School led the research group to investigate the construction of the wireless digital TV broadcast in Malaysia and Indonesia from April 17 to 24.
During the research, Deputy Dean Du Zhongfeng, together with Associate Professor Yi Jia, Deputy Dean of the Institute of Southeast and South Asia Language and Culture of Yunnan Minzu University, Chen Jing, Deputy General Manager of Yunnan Digital Media Co., LTD. visited Senior Director Pengarah Kanan of "Communication and Multimedia Committee" in Malaysia, Zhang Jiajie, the General Manager of the company based in Malaysia for Peking University Founder Group, and Tian Jingjing, the General Manager of China Investment Consulting Company in Indonesia. After visiting these experts in media, they knew more about the market access policy of investment, media cooperation pattern, and programming requirements etc., for the investment of China’s media in Malaysia and Indonesia.
The research group also visited the Social Science and Humanities College of the National University of Malaysia, learning about the research accomplishments in “wireless digital TV broadcast” after discussing with teachers in the Media and Communication Research Department and consulting relative materials. Then, they visited METRTV television station, consulting the compiling pattern and broadcasting contents of its Chinese programs in details and discussing the cooperative construction in the Digital Television Terrestrial Multimedia Broadcasting (DTMB).
It is known that this research project is the part of national key research project --- Building the International Transmission Capacity for China Digital TV Broadcasts to Southeast and South Asia, aiming to implement the instruction by Cai Mingzhao, former Deputy Minister of Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, Director of International Communication Office and State Council Information Office that “promoting Chinese DTMB in Southeast and South Asia”, consolidating the achievements of China's “going out” for cultural projects, and serving for the “Belt and Road” initiative.
