|The Chairman of Sino-Nepal Media Forum Kishor Shrestha Visits Yunnan Normal University and Holds a Talk on the Construction of Sino-Nepal Transcultural Communication Center|
In the morning of June 15, Chairman of Sino-Nepal Media Forum—Kishor Shrestha visited our University. Wang Lin, the Proprietor of Yunnan branch of China News Service, Wu Qi, Secretary of Party General Branch and Assistant Editor-in-Chief of Yunnan University Press, Xiong Yongxiang, Dean of School of Communication, Deputy Dean Niu Lingyan and Du Zhongfeng, and Foreign Affairs Secretary Wang Jianling, received the guests and held a talk together. As the chairman of Sino-Nepal Media Forum, Kishor Shrestha has ever won the top prize in Nepal---National Journalism Award, presented by the President.
As the representative of Universities of Nepal, Kishor Shrestha’s visit aimed at promoting the cooperation in research and teaching fields between the Universities of Nepal and Yunnan Normal University, and strengthening the exchange and connection on teaching and activities for establishing a platform of cooperation in the long run. They also had a talk on building the Sino-Nepal Transcultural Communication Center jointly. Accompanying by the leaders of YNU, the guests looked around the campus and took photos at our well-knew sites. Kishor Shrestha spoke highly of our long history and beautiful campus and paid particular attention to the foreign books collected by our library. This visit acquainted our new friends from Nepal with the history, teaching mode, majors, and students’ campus life of YNU.
After the visit, Yuan Yichuan, Vice President of YNU met with Kishor Shrestha in the meeting room in 2nd floor of Administration Building and talked about the cooperation in the teaching fields. As the representative of Universities of Nepal, Kishor Shrestha had been looking forward to the cooperation and exchange with YNU, even before the visit.
Yuan Yichuan extended the sincere welcome to Kishor Shrestha, and remarked that YNU would make sure to cooperate with several universities in Nepal substantially to conduct education. During the cooperation, our two sides would implement the exchange of teachers resources—to transfer our Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language (TCFL) teachers to Nepal—meanwhile, develop students exchange and cooperation projects--- to exchange students. In the future, a Nepal studies center would be set up for cooperation and exchange in a long period. The two-side talk involved with various topics, mainly including professors’ associated research and exploitation, the exchange of undergraduates and postgraduates, the exploitation of professional education courses for both sides, continuing education courses, academic lectures, seminars, forums and symposiums etc.
Kishor Shrestha expressed that the cooperation between YNU and Nepalese universities are highly expected. He also hoped that young correspondents and interns would be transferred to China for a short study for the joint progress of both sides and would learn each other’s merits to make up deficiencies. Kishor Shrestha particularly looked forward to the establishment of Nepal Studies Center in YNU.
