Three Students of the School of Communication Complete Their Fieldwork in Zhong Xin School of Taiwan

On May 20, 2014, MiFeng, Wang Xue and You Jingke, from 2010 Journalism Class A, 2011 Broadcasting and Hosting Class and 2012 Journalism Class respectively, came back to Yunnan Normal University after completing their fieldwork in Taiwan Zhong Xin School successfully.

It is known that Taiwan Zhong Xin School is the Key Base for Teaching Research and Practice in Taiwan established by Yunnan Normal University (YNU) on September 20, 2013, as the first practice base outside of Yunnan Province founded by YNU. When the new semester began in February 2014, the first group of students were planned to go to Taiwan for their fieldwork, under the organization and coordination of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange and the Office of Academic Affairs. The group finally set out on 12 May, 2014, consisting of 23 well-rounded students from School of Communication, School of Art, School of Educational Science and Management, School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, School of Economic and Management Sciences, School of Tourism and Geographical Sciences, School of History and Administration, School of Foreign Languages and Literature, School of Mathematics, School of Physical Education, and School of Vocational Technical Education. Professor Yin Guocong, Secretary of the Party Committee of School of Art, was the head of the group, and Yang Bin, Li Yan, Wang Shanshan, teachers from School of Educational Science and Management, Office of International Relations and CYL Committee, were the tutors for this trip.

Three students mentioned above from our School completed all their tasks during the process. Mi Feng introduced the similarities and differences of the TV shows between China’s mainland and Taiwan to the students of Zhong Xin School on the subject of Presenting You the TV Programs. Wang Xue introduced the history of the Southwest Associated University (SAU) and presented them Liang Sicheng’s Thatched Cottage (Liang was invited to designed the buildings of SAU), the work created by our School’s student Wang Yachao. You Jingke showed students the charm of media through analyzing various social issues with the knowledge of mass media. Besides lecturing in class and observing teaching, they also took charge of promoting the communication of two sides. Making full use of their professional advantage, they succeeded in related interviews, camera shooting and news-writing, displaying their talents.

In the summing-up meeting, the three excellent representatives of our School were praised by teachers and students of Taiwan ZhongXin School as well as our teachers in the group.
